ISS Manga Story Competition Call for Entries

We are holding a manga story competition set in a future where an inclusive smart society has been realized. Even if you cannot draw manga or write a script, a synopsis is sufficient. Of course, we also welcome submissions of manga works and scripts.
The author of the best entry will be invited to speak at the ISS session of the Tsukuba Conference to be held on 2 October 2025*.

The theme of the story is ‘An inclusive smart society for elderly people living alone in rural areas.’ Think about a story about elderly people living alone in a future society where the issues on them have been solved through the development of technology and social systems. How will they live in that future society? What kind of incidents will occur in their seemingly peaceful daily lives? How will the characters deal with those incidents?
Use your imagination to come up with interesting stories.
To submit your work, first download the worksheet and create your work according to the instructions on the worksheet.
If you are interested, please send your expression of participation to the ISS Program Office by 11:55 PM (JST) on June 23, 2025, and submit your worksheet by 11:55 PM (JST) on June 26, 2025, via email.
