Ohio State University’s campus is incredibly vast, and I was astonished when I first glanced at the campus map. The array of facilities, from multiple libraries, stadiums, museums, to art exhibitions, was truly impressive. Among them, the library’s collection stood out. I can vividly recall the sight of books stretching up to the 11th floor in a building. Notably, there was not only an extensive collection of English books but also a considerable number of Japanese books available. It was deeply meaningful for me because I love libraries. Furthermore, before my trip, I had various concerns such as my English proficiency and meals. However, with the invaluable support of my fellow students and teachers, I managed to overcome them. In particular, regarding English, I came to realize the importance of expressing intentions even if fluency was lacking. Moreover, I discovered that I listened more carefully and shared my thoughts more thoughtfully while using a foreign language compared to my mother tongue. This led to learning from even the most mundane conversations. Overall, my time at Ohio State University was enriching and invaluable.
