Prof. Rasel researches and creates films at The Ohio State University. His work addresses social issues like displacement and social dislocation, using a unique approach that blends non-fiction with elements of fantasy, presenting problems from a critical perspective rather than through direct, documentary-style storytelling.
Originally from Bangladesh, he was forced into exile after two activist colleagues were killed and cannot return home. Having experienced displacement himself, Prof. Rasel uses filmmaking as a medium to engage with and reflect on social issues.
