OHIO
Prof. Morio’s OSU Field Report-4
Somehow I have a hard time with some airline, and there have been many instances in the past where things didn’t go smoothly, such as having my suitcase broken or almost catching a cold because I was allocated a seat with too much air-conditioning.
This time, I had a worrying feeling about the airline’s flight again, so I decided to complete online check-in precisely the day before and head to the airport early.
On the morning of the day, I received a message from the airline, and rubbing my sleepy eyes, I looked at the screen…

Oh, no, seriously. We’re not able to make the connection to Columbus in time.
I hastily rebooked an alternative flight for all of us from the airline’s website, and although we were two hours behind schedule, we made it to our hotel in Columbus safely.
Now, our fruitful stay at OSU was over in the blink of an eye and it was time to go back home.
Following the advice given to me by the OSU staff, we went to the airport earlier and checked in quickly as daylight saving time started on this day and OSU’s spring break was about to begin.
After successfully completing passport control and security checks, I received a message from the airline when I was ready to leave for boarding.

All right, all right, on schedule. The return journey seems to be going smoothly.
But an hour and a half later…

Huh?
After this, we went to the airline counter and got an alternative flight rebooked and we all arrived safely at Haneda, half a day late.

Oh dear.
