The winner of the ISS-PBL final presentation session has been determined to be Group 5. Group 5’s entrepreneurial theme is “Semi-Automated Exercise Tricycle ~New legs, New exercise for the elderly~.”

Let’s check out the feedback from the six judge professors.

Interesting proposition, and problem was well articulated. However, it’s a relatively imitable product, so if you become successful, other firms will come in, and I don’t see product differentiation. Crowdfunding can be a great idea.
Excellent presentation. Product does need especial technology. I am not convinced that many elderly will run to buy it.
Very interesting product. How to deal with competitors (their will be many, I belive) will become an issue.
The idea of using three-wheeled vehicles, which promote exercise, for health support is interesting. I believe that combining them with sharing services could be effective. On the other hand, vital sensing does not play a major role, and I think it would be acceptable if it were integrated with other services.
Concept is fine
I wanted to hear US situation, too.

The positive aspects, roughly speaking, are as follows:
* Theme and concept
* Point of view on social issues
*Product
In addition to the above, the judges also evaluated the possibility of successfully overcoming startup challenges such as fundraising and market development by taking advantage of current trends such as crowdfunding and sharing services.
On the other hand, there are also comments that are ahead of the times, saying that if a product sells well, the market will soon become a red ocean, and product differentiation and marketing will become issues.
Good point, professor.
It should be noted that Group 5 was by no means represented by fluent English speakers. In that respect, Groups 1 through 4 were filled with bullet English speakers from OSU students or international students at UT, which was very powerful. Group 5, presenting while looking at their phones and notes, seemed rather quiet.

Group 5 overcame this language disadvantage to win the competition. This is because of the highly evaluated content of the presentation.
We cannot wait for the day when each member of Group 5 who traveled to the partner country will grow up to be an international startup talent representing Japan, not overwhelmed by the language aspect.
Congratulations to Group 5!
