Prof. Yas Motoyama of OSU Visits UT for PBL Seminar

On December 24, 2024, Prof. Motoyama visited Tsukuba. The purpose of his visit was to shoot ISS-PBL lecture videos. Yasuyuki (Yas) Motoyama is an Associate Professor at the City and Regional Planning of the Knowlton School. He conducts research about regional economic development and urban vibrancy through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Motoyama moved to the U.S. at the age of 19. His time in the U.S. easily exceeds his time in Japan. He is a perfect bilingual who switches between English and Japanese at will.

Recently, realizing his Japanese language skills deteriorating, he has been training his Japanese language skills by watching Japanese anime and other programs. Even university professors are not superhumans. He seems to be making efforts in hidden places.
