Prof. Morio’s OSU Field Report-3
When Japanese people go to study in the U.S., they come back as a different person.
We often hear stories like this.
This is not only the invisible changes, such as becoming fluent in English or acquiring an international mindset. Young men and women of exceptional beauty before going to America return home unrecognizably fat (or, dead skinny unable to adjust to the local diet).
Students who are considering studying in the U.S., the American food is full of temptations. If you are not careful, you will end up consuming lots of carbohydrates with oil and sugar, so be sure to consume vegetables and fruits as well!
This is the third volume of the OSU field report from Manga Specialist, Prof. Morio.

There are many cafes and restaurants around OSU, and it is a popular spot for students.
We visited a restaurant recommended by OSU students and tried the food.

The photo on the left is a burrito from Chipotle Mexican Grill. This restaurant typically serves rice, meat, vegetables, etc. on a plate, but I asked to have them wrapped in a burrito instead. Even though I ordered a moderate portion, the finished burrito measured 10 cm on the short side, 25 cm on the long side, and 10 cm in thickness.
The photo on the right is the Buckeye Bowl from Playa Bowls, an acai bowl shop. The bowl is filled with coconut slices, Ohio’s state tree nut-inspired peanut paste, chocolate paste, and chocolate chips.
Thinking about how many calories that must be made me a bit scared.
When OSU students visit Tsukuba, I would like to recommend ‘light snacks (actually quite heavy) and coffee Claret.’
