A PhD program is a long and often lonely journey. It is a marathon toward a self-defined goal, requiring flexibility, perseverance, and steady progress. When you feel discouraged or your mental health is at risk, it is your connections with others that will help you. A good relationship with your mentor (supervisor) is your lifeline, and friends and peers are what keep you going.
“PhD How-To Guide” is a video series dedicated to all students taking on the challenge of a PhD program.
Talk session with PE faculty and Students

“They wouldn’t have contacted our colleaque if they hadn’t seen potential, and if you didn’t have a relationship.”
“Relationships are at the center of it all. It’s an accident, but it’s not an accident – you know what I mean?”
Sue Sutherland
