My OSU visit was decided after I participated in the Summer Festival which is a part of the ISS program. I visited many laboratories and facilities of various research fields, including aerospace engineering, agriculture, automobile, and exercise science. Also, I visited a lot of art museums, libraries, and science museums and learned about the U.S. cultural aspects.
The most inspiring facility I visited was Thompson Library, which is the biggest library at OSU. Thompson Library is a very large building with 11 floors and holds over 1.25 million books. There were not only bookshelves but also spaces for students to study independently and to relax. It also played an important role as a place for people to socialize. I think I could realize this because I had the chance to visit this place in person.
I was able to deepen my knowledge through this visit, in addition to improving my English skills and communicating with people. I encourage you to participate in the ISS program and gain valuable experiences that you cannot get in your everyday life.
